A short seasonal walk-through of the home catches small issues while they're still simple fixes, rather than letting them turn into bigger jobs.

Before summer

Check AC systems ahead of peak heat, inspect outdoor fittings and paintwork for sun damage from the previous year, and test that any shading or ventilation fixtures are working properly.

During summer

Keep an eye on water usage for sudden increases (a possible leak sign), and check that AC drains are clear given how hard the system is working.

During cooler months

This is a good window for exterior touch-ups, checking door and window seals, and addressing any small repairs that were deprioritized during peak summer.

  • Before summer: AC check, exterior inspection, ventilation test.
  • During summer: watch water usage, keep AC drains clear.
  • Cooler months: exterior touch-ups, seal checks, catch-up repairs.
  • Any time: don't let small issues (loose fixtures, minor leaks) wait for the next season.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a seasonal checklist matter more in the UAE?

The shift from intense summer heat to milder winter months puts different stress on different parts of a home — checking each season catches issues tied to that specific stress before they build up.
